With a small family loan, Maribeth and a friend bought a press and taught themselves how to develop artwork and make printing plates. For years the company operated in a converted dairy barn in Northern Illinois where the two friends sold by day and printed by night. Their focus was to provide quality printing and fast service on lower minimums that would better meet he needs of their customers, filling a market need not currently being served.
Over the years the company experienced tremendous growth, moved into a new facility (including a 10,000 sq. ft. expansion in 2004), expanded its printing capabilities and product line, and grown to more than 140 associates. Exclusively serving the promotional products marketplace, BAG MAKERS has become one of the leading imprinted bag suppliers in the industry, printing more than 40 million bags each year through flexographic, hot stamping and screen printing services.
